| Important
information for OVERSEAS CLIENTS: Do
American connoisseurs and enthusiasts of Fine Wines pay more than they need to? I
have long wondered whether this was actually the case. I launched my own investigation
to discover if there really was a substantial and unnecessary price differential
between the UK and the USA and then to publish my findings.

The
prices of the wines in the United States were all taken from current lists of
very well respected vendors in both New York and California on 16th October 2002
and updated in March 2004. The London prices were also of that date with the same
conditions applying. We
will be allocating wine from the 2003 Bordeaux vintage from
the end of April 2004 onwards. The best wines WILL
be in very short supply. Do not miss the opportunity
of securing wine from some of your favourite chateau for what promises to be an
extremely good vintage. If you want it, we can supply it! All
wine that Dunbar Fine Wine sources in London will
have an impeccable provenance and has been cellared in ideal conditions since
shipping ex cellars from Bordeaux. The London price includes the cost of the wine,
packing and airfreight shipping, US and UK customs formalities, local taxes and
delivery to either a New York or California address. My charge for the service
is also included. Alternatively, you may wish to cellar the wine in the UK, which
can be arranged with one of our most respected cellarers, and ship when convenient
or even realise at a later date. The decision is yours! Did
you know
that as late as the mid 1990's, Fine Wine was quite often shipped from Europe
to the USA in containers that did not have adequate or even
any temperature control on the shipping containers. Did
you know
that substantial stocks of wine particularly in the mid to late 1980's may
have crossed the Atlantic by sea in far from ideal storage conditions as many
as 3 times and then laid on a New York dockside in the middle of Summer for days.
If you have been disappointed by wine from this era on a number of occasions,
this could well have been the cause. Those of you who reside in the Far East,
Japan and Australasia and the rest of the world were also not immune to this factor
either. Did
you know
when you decide to purchase Fine Wine that is not immediately available, your
local retailer contacts the wholesaler, who then contacts a broker or agent, who
then calls London and the purchase is eventually made. They then ship, every part
of the chain taking their piece of the action until YOU
as the client pay a price that was totally avoidable!! Did
you know
that like-minded enthusiasts are now forming syndicates
and purchasing in this way, eliminating both the
requirement of purchasing an entire case and sharing the overhead. This
is your opportunity to take advantage of the lower prices in the UK
and take out some of the questions that may hang over some of the stock of Fine
Wine, wherever you happen to reside. So
please contact Dunbar Fine Wine
for a quote for your perfectly cellared Fine Wine, delivered to your home or cellars,
at a price substantially lower than you would be asked to
pay locally. We can of course deliver worldwide. Service
doesn't get much better than that!
As a Rotarian, for every case of wine dispatched abroad, a $10 donation will be
made to Rotary Foundation through Dunbar
Rotary Club. ( NOTE:
